wedding belle

The hot Welshman popped the question!! Hence my radio silence on ss, sorry folks but been in a mountain of champers and dreams and rocks and wedding websites. Focusing on the really important stuff, naturally. So excited, this is a whole new shopping arena and it goes on and on and on...currently loving Jenny Packham, Monique lhuillier and Christos. Central Weddings looks terrifying but I am going to try on every gown in the place. Any advice on where else to go for great, and unique designers much appreciated....
In the meantime, while I rant on like the bridezilla I swore never to become, feast your eyes on this delicious idea from a lovely girl who is the sister of my great and glam friend Payne... Edna's tea shop...perfect for rustic chic weddings...

DVD me up

Good old DVF, or DVD as my darling Welshman refers to her. She's gone and promised us 90% off, what a billy bargain! Nobody's going to miss you in this Wonder Woman number strutting along Queen's Road Central. I love this one, add gold shoes, a little clutch and you have the perfect summer wedding outfit. Get down there tomorrow and snap yourself up a dress or two.

rod the god and shoe making

Neither of these topics have anything to do with each other, but I just had to write about what a complete sex god/rock legend the Rod is. His show on Saturday night was completely amazing. He is not only immensely talented but he looks like he is having such a laugh on stage. His dance moves were classic (imagine spindly bird legs doing odd twists and then a quick hip thrust - hilarious). OK Rod rant over. Onto a more serious style note. I am always being asked "where are the best places to get shoes made?" I have a few tried and tested places for you to try, depending on budget, but I would also urge you to check out the Amaya label when you are next in Lane Crawford, I get most of my shoes there and they always get a lot of loving from the public at large.

*Little Britain voice* I Want That One...

LIII LIII/Alan Chan - everyone has heard of them and they are good, they have all the latest styles and know their designer shapes, but they are on the pricey side so bargain hard. Shop No 75, 1st Floor, Tower 2, Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Road
JJ Partners - a smidgen cheaper and still very reliable for stylish footwear, less designer looks but they can copy anything you bring in. I would use them for work/everyday shoes rather than something super special. G/Floor, 173 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley (round the corner from The Football Club).
Vickie's - a little more cheap and cheerful, I've had pumps made here and loved them, well made and a good selection of colours and styles. Your Mum would like it. G/Floor, 25 Li Yuen Street, off Queens Road Central, also on Queen Victoria Street.

light up light up

Its like mordor outside, the world is collapsing no one can decide on their 7's costumes. The panic is palpable. We must think of summer and adorn ourselves with fun and flirtatious jewellery from Anna Lou of London. I met the lovely lady at a private sale last night, hosted by a few HK glamour pusses. Her designs are bold, bright and won't suit shy and retiring types. I love the pendants, I bought a pink one with a dragon fly on it and some enormous flowery earrings. They are perfect gifts for girlfriends and ideal for adding a bit of fun to your Monday morning bluuuurgh work outfit. She's taking over the world with her Topshop concession and all this began from an ickle Portobello market stall. I'm trying to convince her to organise another sale. Watch this space...
