I think they've succeeded, love this jacket made from reclaimed leather, the iPad cover/clutch (very this season), pink bobble hat (everyone in NYC seems to be wearing these...see stylish ways here) and a simple soft grey tee. So did you pop into the new Cos store in Hong Kong yesterday? Did you love it? I quizzed a few fashion editor friends in London on what they go for...they always pick up simple dresses for work, well cut jackets which look way more expensive that they are, and classic tops and trousers in great colours. They also reckon the underwear is very reasonable. J.Crew opening in Hong Kong + Cos arriving soon...

I'm in the Hamptons, the home of the prepster crew, so it seems fitting that the news broke about J.Crew landing in Hong Kong at Lane Crawford this October. I quizzed the New York girls on what they buy there...classic tees are a hit, so are the jewels, the cece ballet flats are the comfiest around and everyone loves the cashmere. So there you go, get excited Hong Kong...Cos arriving soon too, opening on Thursday 28th June.

Topshop is launching another mini collection, this time at Harvey Nichols, they will stock designer collaborations and Topshop Unique (as heard on the D'Vine), Victoria Beckham will be in town next Wednesday at Lane Crawford introducing her Victoria Victoria Beckham designs and new handbag designer, Bracher Emden, has arrived at I.T. The9thMuse officially opened last weekend in Hong Kong, they have a showroom on Lyndhurst Terrace and are well worth checking out for gorgeous well-priced jewellery. The girls behind it are high school roommates and long time friends Charlotte and Jing, together they've have sourced unique pieces from independent designers in New York, LA, Chicago and Europe. I first saw these picnic-bag-style clutch bags in (a very cool shop called) Assembly New York. The softest leather and so cute. Perfect day to night, and bound to be noticed. My spy checked out Polkdot Boutique this weekend. The people behind it are Karen and Jamie, who met in Hong Kong whilst hiking three years ago (how sweet), she spotted...gorgeous belts, great going out outfits/dresses for work, a cute polkadot sleeveless dress, a nice cropped wool jacket, pretty silk tops and lots and lots of stylish jewellery. The price point was what impressed her most, dresses were around HKD600. Some of the noteable brands which they stock are...Hong Kong based Bejewelled Bespoke, Emily and Finn and Nancy Dee from the UK, plus some US jewellery designers; EmilyElizabeth, Christina Kober Designs and Frolick Jewelry. Go check it out...

where to shop (and more) in new york + new shops opening in hong kong

I am suffering from a rather good night eating and drinking too much at Beauty & Essex (another Avroko stunner), they serve champagne in the restroom (note the new lingo) which is rather fabulous. So I thought I'd share some NY shopping tips which I have found...

Jo of Cup of Jo has put together a fabulous series of where to eat/stay/shop and much more in New York. I plan on trying all the restaurants and shops over the coming months and working on my own little list too. From her mentions I know Catbird in Williamsburg is a must and so is Madewell. See her guide here for eating....sleeping...and most importantly...shopping :)
