the best summer jackets

I am always being quizzed about summer jackets. Slim pickings this year but I saw this one above by Masscob at KJ's Laundry in The Times, a Madewell kimono style, sort of light denim relaxed number (amazing description) at Reformation, smarter linen blazer option by Club Monaco, cropped knit at Hush and another blue print at Mango. Lulu Kennedy just launched a collection with M&S and I love this one, if you need something a bit more structured this linen blazer at J Crew is a good bet. Cos has a cropped pink/red print option here and this mesh one caught my eye...

white and lacy

Blame the Chloe campaign, its time to fake tan and get leggy. Zara have a great lacy selection, here, here, here and here (very cropped). This Madewell one is flying off the shelves. Slightly smarter dress by Finery London, a more geometric option at Whistles, a tunic by Mint Velvet in the UK and one for the beach at PilyQ. I will post on sandals next week, in the meantime these Loeffler Randall ones are pretty epic.

whistles spring collection

I've been a bad blogger this week, sorry. Lots going on. I popped into Bloomingdale's and saw the new collection by Whistles, they have Friends & Family coming up this weekend with 25% off (UK readers there is 25% off with Grazia). I really like this lace cropped shirt, you can imagine Wallis Simpson rocking this dress (they also have it in black), an easy linen tee for spring and I still love this fur.

New boho/embroidered/lacy/white top needed urgently please. Here are some high and low options…broderie angalaise by Etoile Isabel Marant, panels at Warehouse, Beyond Vintage lace and crochet, pineapple print at Anthropologie, cropped top and skirt by Zara, or a shirt option Zara, a very pretty Zimmermann smock and this blouse has been spotted on a lot of fashion editors. Panic over.

self portrait - a london label to love

If you are still in search of a party outfit you might just love Self Portrait. I keep sending my clients in their direction and they are loving the meshy bits, the showy but not showy panels (both highly technical terms ;) ) and midi lengths. New Yorkers haven't caught onto this London label yet, although since featuring them here there has been a lot of buzz. Bobble hats. Love these merino wool and colourful furry bobbles at Bobbl, this grey one at viaClouds, and I spied this in the kids section at Zara. Bingo.

Love a leather skirt. Our British fave Marks and Spencer are stocking a great selection this year. Add a simple t-shirt or a chunky jumper, basically copy Alexa Chung. This Zara olive green, non-leather version is gorg too. Oh and & Other Stories has just opened in soho...have a great weekend x

skinny black jeans

A stylish girlfriend recently recommended Whistles jeans, they are mid rise, stretchy comfortable and jet black. Skinny legs. Boom. The key is in the mid rise cut (especially for those of us with babes :) ), the Frame Le Skinny de Jeanne are also completely amazing, and apparently a Madewell pair are the worlds most flattering jeans according to Cup of Jo. So there you go.

the coolest culottes

Never mind the shows, the thing we most noticed at NYFW and LFW were how cool the editors all looked in their culottes. These Whistles ones featured a lot. I'd give them a try before we all get packed away in tights / skinnys / boots and face polar vortex round two :) more inspiration on how to wear them here...

Warehouse, a UK brand which is available on Asos, have some cracking items this season, love this shell top, this animal print knit and this gorgeous furry pink number above. 

the non biker biker jacket by jigsaw

I love a leather biker but so many of them have too many biker bits and dangly belts and stuff. Then I found this chilled out biker in a gorgeous soft leather at Jigsaw. Not a totally crazy price either. 

sales buy: acne jeans at matches fashion

Tempting as it is the buy another floaty white thing for summer, the sales are actually great for trying designer items which people swear by. Acne jeans are one of those. Fashion Editor Sarah Clark from Little Spree raves about them and my friend Lucy Watson looks ridiculously slim in them. I am giving them a try...

the prettiest camisole by jigsaw

This silk camisole is just so pretty. It would be perfectly dressed down with boyfriend shorts and chic flats. Jigsaw often have a few gems, I love this print kimono top and their bags.

Mango does it again. It does have fairly intense shoulder pads though. The print would also make a great cushion ;)

palm print midi skirt by warehouse & facials at caudalie

Really pretty palm print at Warehouse, they do a top and dress too. Breaking news...I went for a facial at Caudalie. No wonder the waiting list is decades long, it was great, my skin is all glowy and dewey...or is that the humidity...anyway, if you are in need of a treat I would head to their Bleecker boutique.
