wedding dress shopping

Incredibly selfish but I am going to post about this, Laura from Wearing It Today (one of my favourite blogs which I read daily) is getting married and asked readers for dress inspiration, I sent her a pic and she put them all together in this post on Wednesday. I felt the same as her about finding my wedding dress, thinking I knew about style and fashion I thought it would be easy, it wasn't, and I got myself in a complete self-obsessed tizz which was hideously boring for everyone around me. I've never posted about it but I keep getting so many emails and enquiries about wedding dresses it makes sense to. I ended up with two dresses (plus one for Friday night - of course!) which both came from the Vintage Wedding Dress Company, they were fab there, totally relaxed and very stylish. They have a great selection of stunning vintage dresses and I love their Decades collection, which they have just introduced in lace too. I would also recommend Temperley as they were also lovely to deal with and very chilled out. A lot of my friends have bought from Miss Bush Bridal (fabulous name), they have great stock from a whole host of different designers, including Jenny Packham, who created a beautiful range for 2011. I also discovered Delphine Manivet recently and posted on it here, incredible dresses, one for the next wedding I think ;) Jason Wu just launched a bridal collection on Net-A-Porter and Urban Outfitters have just announced their bridal range at Bhldn, plus Anthropologie plan to introduce a bridal range soon...sooooo much choice out there! In Hong Kong I would only go to White and The Wedding Shop, and on a final note you have to see this amazing cape from State of Grace which would add enormous amounts of glamour to your day. I hope that helps...remember to do lots of yoga, accept that your mother is going to drive you insane (but you will make up and it will be OK) and just enjoy it, we danced under the stars until 6.30am, and I would do it all over again, every weekend, if I could!
