nyfw september 2015

Bonkers week. Sorry for the low levels of posting. Here are some great looks from around town this NYFW. What an amazing one it was. Did you see the Marc Jacobs premiere? If you like the grey culotte outfit above I just saw this at Zara
 Have a great weekend x

joseph altuzarra new york fashion week ss13

I popped along to the Altuzarra show this weekend. It was incredible. The people watching was golden, all of them ridiculously thin, gorgeous and well-dressed. Walking past me were Anna Dello Russo, Natalie Massenet, Hamish Bowles, Lynn Yaeger, Susie Bubble, The Man Repeller and apparently Anne Wintour, Kate Bosworth and Jessica Chastain were there too. According to Alex (who was with me on her first night out since her little girl was born...bless!) the crowd was three times bigger this year, and his collection felt a lot more feminine. The fashion crew were impressed ;)

I loved these looks...the boots, the fringing, the cape/jacket thingamajigs, the embellishment, the big scarves...

lyst lovelies

Met the lovely Sandra of Sandra's Closet last night at a fun Lyst dinner. We  stroked her furry bag, enjoyed the yummy food (ABC Kitchen) and chatted to the founder of Edition 01 (check it out for limited collections by designers - Hil from Lyst was wearing some amazing trousers by Cushnie et Ochs) and Kelly from Bag Snob, who doesn't like Mulberry. Madness.

rachel zoe spring/summer 2012

I've started getting into the Rachel Zoe project since I moved here, tragic I know, but I love it. I was also pretty impressed with her Spring/Summer 2012 collection....

inside fashion week

So NYFW and LFW are all over, onto Milan and the teal explosion at Gucci (loved it), secretstylist couldn't be there because she has this thing called a full-time job, how incredibly "mafan" as Hong Kongers would say. I caught up with Helen, the Digital and Online Editor at Marie Claire, to give us the inside track on what went on at the shows in New York and London...

ss: Top 3 looks you loved...
Helen: Leather sleeves spotted in London and leather dresses in NY, basically if it's leather, it's in. Fur still huge with grey feathered faux fur seen on the great and the good in both cities and black shearling big everywhere. Platform shoes are a must have but really only the celeb frow can wear them - buyers and press sticking to wedges as so much running about between shows

ss: Top 3 trends which we will be wearing in autumn/winter 2011...
Helen: AW11 all about the platform shoe, 70s style and textured knits. Tricky to wear but the more conservative among us can take inspiration from fine tailoring and new look classics as seen on Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera and Jaegar London

ss: Any comedy/memorable moments?
Helen: Police having to intervene in a bloggers brawl as someone tried to get into the BFC tent in London, Jameela Jamil and Jason Gardiner fatigue as everyone wonders what they're doing in the frow of yet another show, serious gusts of wind making several fashion eds flash their pants after Diesel Black Gold on Pier 94 in NY

ss: Most spotted item among the fashion crowds...
Helen: Most spotted, hot red or peonie pink lipstick, well tailored coats (it's been freezing), starbucks in hand (we're knackered!)

Thanks Helen...follow her on @HelensWitter

...I loved these looks...spotted going to and from the shows in New York and London...
