west village shopping...project 159
I love sending people to this boutique, they've got cute dresses, great prints, silky shirts and racer back vests in gorgeous colours. Cobalt is big for next season and floral always works in the summer. Prices range roughly from USD 100-300. Pop in and then have lunch in the sun at Morandi which is just next door. oscar frocks
Best dressed at the Oscars...
Gwennie can do no wrong, love her in Tom Ford, the capes, the cuff, the low pony tail
Michelle shows us how to rock coral, mis-match our clutches and wear the peplum trend fabulously in Louis Vuitton
Rooney demonstrates that she is an expert in bangs, red lippie and the low V, just gorgeous in Givenchy
oh and trend alert - its time to rock coral, scarlet red and pink this spring/summer

how to wear a long skirt
I love this look. Relaxed, casual and chic, this is a great way to wear a long skirt in a bright colour...find similar looks from (oh guess where...) the Zara sale.

hong kong boutique: rue madame birthday party
tIt may not look like summer outside (Hong Kong is grey and murky) but I know it's here due to the increasing requests for wedding outfits and honeymoon wardrobes. I saw some colourful, print and pretty options when I went along to the 1st birthday celebrations for rue Madame last week. I've always liked this boutique, they buy superbly and the store is full of things we can actually wear. Plus with French labels you are unlikely to catch anyone else wearing the same thing, especially at UK weddings. I took some pics of items which caught my eye...
p.s saw Maddy there too, she was snapping up a lot of items, well done to her for her feature in The Telegraph...and stay tuned for some exciting news bout her label, Madeleine Thompson, coming in June...

I spied this dress by Gat Rimon after being inspired by the look below from Cannes. It could be a great wedding outfit option, I also found a well-priced raffia hat to go with it, from Liberty, alternatively buy a panama
Could be a great honeymoon staple
Really want these jeans
Silky trousers in rainbow colours, love the floral ones, team with high heels and a simple t-shirt, or dress up with a blazer for an alternative wedding outfit
This reminded me of Christopher Kane's galaxy print dress, it would be perfect with the hat mentioned above and gold flats and jewels
Great beach cover-up which can be dressed up for the evening
Why not wear pink shorts to a wedding?
Love this floral print
A cute vintage-style way to do the lace trend
A pink short-suit? maybe?

hong kong shopping: eyes and lips
Hong Kong was all about eyes and lips last night. The latest in a long line of pop-up stores opened, Woaw which is selling seriously cool eyewear brands. New sunglasses for summer are a must, so pop over there and check them out on Patterson Street, Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay. Lips were courtesy of the gorgeous Lulu Guinness who was in town to talk about her quirky English style handbags. The lime or pink lips provide the perfect pop of colour to any outfit. I can't wait for Lulu to be sold here, watch this space and if you can't wait then you can buy online here...

hong kong shopping: red jeans
Apologies for the delay in posts this week, there is a lot going on in secretstylist world, all to be revealed soon. I was excited to see the arrival of these red J Brand jeans at Lane Crawford this week, just a few weeks after my coloured jeans/trousers post. They are HK$1900 and in stores now. Love them. Inspiration on how to wear them below...

pleats please
I wrote about pleats here and mentioned the impending popularity of the Carrie skirt by Whistles, and oh, I was right (smug smile), so right that they have just launched it in two new colours...I love the blue, but yellow could so rock too...snap them up before they sell out...such a great way to wear colour this season...

hong kong style: the best way to do colour
I am loving the colour movement. The brights in the shops rock right now. As usual Zara has nailed it, with eye-popping blue dresses, pinks, oranges, dusky pink and fuchsias. Nothing says colour better than a jean or trouser though. Reserved for the brave, the savvy wearer knows that colour blocking works and they don't mind being likened to a zoom ice lolly. So join them, yes you can add a neutral colour / grey top / navy blazer, but don't chicken out. Do it while you can, we will be back to dull and dreary minimal before you know it.
Red jeans by Acquaverde, from Rue Madame, they have them in light pink (ideal for Hong Kong summer) and teal too (this colour has sold out but more stock is coming soon...)
Blush coloured jeans by Rag & Bone, from Net-A-Porter
Bright pink skinny trousers, love them, by Zara
Can't face those options? I love this dress, seems everyone else did too as it has virtually sold out, if you see it, buy it, Zara
