cool coats

I've been asked to pick some coats and cover ups for fall/autumn/before we have to embrace the enormous puff coat...so here you go. Camel cardigan style at Zara, powder blue at Asos, a bit of leopard at Mango, something smart (and whoop...grey) at Maje, love this half coat thing at Emerson Fry too, or a sheepskin gilet/vest at Whistles. I've been living in my blanket cape and get lots of compliments...plus a few odd looks ;)

capes and tassels

I hope you all had a very happy thanksgiving :) I am particularly thankful for the fact capes are still in, and I keep spotting gorgeous tassels everywhere...cape from Mango (Zara has a cute grey one too), earrings by Asos, tassel pendant by Eddie Borgo at Bergdorf Goodman and necklace at Stella & Dot.

the trench cape

Wimbledon, week one, you know it is going to rain. VB came prepared, in her cape-style trench, but was she wearing anything underneath? Naughty. Try this similar one by Marc New York in the sale via Lyst, or go very British and try the vintage-style Barbour cape.

to cape or coat?

That is the question troubling thousands of world leaders everywhere. I know it is 40 odd degrees and 90% humidity, however, you still need to plan these things and I am seeing a lot of interesting cape chat around the world. Question is do you cape it, or coat it? Most winter collections are not containing capes yet in HK so I found these ones for you. This stunning simple number is from Isabelle Oliver's 365 collection (worth checking out, clean lines, wardrobe basics), as featured on the essential read Liberty London Girl (thanks for that one LLG!). Fabulous in black or cream (219 GBP). Or try this this more budget friendly option (75 GBP) at Warehouse with cute button details.
If you are not a cape crusader (sorry I could not resist) head to my favourite coat venue Zara (who are launching online shopping on Sept 2nd FYI), year after year they produce similar designer styles superbly well and you are often left with just enough money for new shoes. Look at the classic camel below, yummy, belt it, button it or just look it, it is gorgeous and so simple. Priced at HK$1,299 and in store now, but be warned, the small sizes are running out. If you can't quite buy a coat yet they have some lovely military style jackets in cream, olive and black for between HK$899 and HK$1,200 ish, and a nice tweed inspired blazer with elbow patches (very autumn/winter 2010) for HK$899.
