bumplicious

There's a baby boom, everyone has been getting jiggy and our weekends are filled with baby showers. It is all very lovely, you can eat cake and have the perfect excuse not to make the tea but how on earth do you continue to look your stylish self? My first ever guest editor Sarah Flavell, co-founder of Curves Couture knows how...

Top tips to flatter those pregnancy curves
With a wealth of maternity clothing ranges now available, style-conscious pregnant women don’t have to sit on the fashion sidelines for the duration of their pregnancy. Here are some top tips to keep you looking glam while your curves grow.

Great Maternity Jeans - don’t go for those with large waistbands that stretch over your pregnant tummy, these will only irritate the delicate skin there. Go for low-slung jeans with stretch jersey ribbed elasticated waistbands: Zara, Next and Crave Maternity do great ones. Style with a fitted t-shirt and accessorise with a gorgeous satin maman-obi sash belt from
Curves Couture for a fashionable, on-trend look.

Fitted tops –ruched, bandeau, cami, wrap or plain t-shirt: get a top that accentuates your bump rather than drowns it. Worn with jeans, smooth line trousers or a maternity pencil skirt, there are great ranges to be found at Isabella Oliver, Sonovaso, Blossom, Homemummy and H&M.

Dresses – Wrap, Tunic, Maxi or Grecian this trend is great for any pregnant woman. Team a Tunic dress with coloured tights, leggings or funky boots; a Wrap dress is great for the office or dressed up for the evening. The Maxi and Grecian style dresses worn with a shrug or bolero jacket are the perfect party pieces. Isabella Oliver and Push Maternity offer some of the best styles.

Layers - invest in some long ruched camisole tops, this simple jersey base will allow you to layer other t-shirts, jackets, shrugs, form-fitting jumpers or wrap dresses for that luxe layered look and the longer length gives your bump plenty of cover and extra warmth!

Lingerie – good underwear is vital during pregnancy, it should feel comforting and look feminine, not frumpy and beige! HOTmilk is a luxurious, sexy maternity lingerie range from New Zealand that is not only comfortable and stylish but celebrates those pregnancy curves!
