white trousers for our taxi-taking bottoms
We live in a city blessed with cheap as chips taxis, therefore we are allowed white trousers. No london tube dirt here, thanks very much. Pop to Club Monaco (IFC 2 or Times Square) for some of the best cuts and shades. A definate staple for the summer, team with a pretty smock top, a black vest or a flowery dress for easy peasy elegance. Rush now, they are in the sale.
wedding guest stress
It must be very stressful organising a wedding, but brides, spare a thought for your far flung guests. We fly 6,000 miles to get there, arriving with DVT sock marks, that lovely aeroplane bloat look and a face which even Clarins Beauty Flash Balm has trouble fixing. All this and we have not even touched on the outfit dilemmas. The shops seem to be full of white dresses, which are a wedding no no, and with the sales starting it all appears to be tat, tat, and more tat. If you share my pain you may want to hear about a few little places stocking some serious one off numbers that will beat the standard Coast strapless number to a pulp! One shop I have had my beady eye on is Brands Boutique on Hollywood Road, opposite Pure gym. Enthusiastic assistant Mina is just that, and though slightly off putting at first, she is good. She knows her stock well and seems to have a regular flow of happy customers who she is honest with about what works and what doesn't. Be careful when you browse, some of the dresses are Karen Millen numbers from yonks ago for HK$ 700. Sift carefully and you will be rewarded with some hidden gems.....

five course clothing
Finding myself tucking into a five course dinner on Saturday night for a friend's birthday I rejoiced with my fellow female diners about this smock crazy fashion moment. It is quite honestly the best thing that's ever happened to a girl like me. A girl who loves her food. While most boyfriends don't love the look, unless there is a short skirt underneath or a hint of cleavage prior to a billow of fabric, this volume tastic stuff gives us the freedom to eat starters, mains and dessert and not have to hold our tummy's in. So....we are not just comfortable, but we look great, especially in those 3am photos, which inevitably end up on facebook for all your school friends from 1908 to see. Topshop, of course, has some yummy smock tops in pretty floral designs which look great with jeans and shorts, and provide a refreshing break from vest tops and t-shirts.
Banoffi Pie with full fat cream? Yes please, I'll have two. Volume rocks.
